We come from the land of the ice and snow From the midnight sun, where the hot springs flow. The hammer of the gods will drive our ships to new lands To fight the horde, and sing and cry, ‘Valhalla, I am coming!’
I am a little high but what if people proposed with beautiful, intricate knives. Ladies would gather around the table and be like “guess what finally happened!!” And pull this beautiful, intricate dagger out of her purse and all the other ladies would gasp and congratulate her
ok but the peak of all comedy will always be that video of the broken singing trout that makes unholy noises but always goes right back to normal for the cheery chorus
Hey you guys should tell me about your davekat headcanons sometime because I would be all over that
Dave can’t tell Karkat he loves him. Every time he tries, he chokes because even when things were bad with Bro, he always reminded himself that Bro loves him. The word tastes sour. So he goes out of his way to show Karkat how much he loves him – complimenting him in long rambling soliloquies, taking of his shades when it’s just the two of them, calling him increasingly ridiculous pet names and holding him painfully close at night. It takes six years, a bottle of vodka, and a wedding for him to finally say it. They both cry.
Karkat can’t be naked around Dave. His hangups about his mutation and his own insecurities terrify him. They make love in the dark, where he can see Dave but Dave can’t see him. He covers the mirrors. Dave doesn’t push him. Dave tells him every day how beautiful he is. It takes six years, a heartfelt expression, and a wedding before he can finally believe it. They make love with the lights on for the first time. The mirrors are uncovered one by one.
Their wedding is planned entirely by Rose and Kanaya. It is held at twilight, with just their friends. Karkat wears red. Dave faces his friends without his shades to hide him. They speak in broken, shy sentences and pledge their lives to each other. Rose cries. Dirk smiles. Karkat is quiet, caught up in Dave’s eyes. They match.
They recover. Karkat stops waking up with nightmares. He starts wearing tank tops instead of sweaters and crying openly without wiping his red tears. Dave is no longer nervous around Dirk. He starts to see the things about him that are unique more than the things that remind him of his childhood. They grow together. They are happy.
