Are you kidding me? This is perfection. Educate yourselves, buckos.
WHAT A GREAT POST
Wh…
this is the most beautiful of all posts
one of my fave songs, will always know all the words
I was in school when this originally came out (yes, I’m old) and one of our teachers used a big stretch of cork boards in one hallway and put up all of the lyrics with a historical blurb about each thing. It was pretty awesome.
I’ve been gone! This is where! From now until March I’m trying to complete one story sequence a week. Some are mine, others (like this) are stories I love and want a shot at re-imagining.
Thoughts!
1. The frosty setting is more symbolic than historically accurate–Hamilton and Burr dueled in July.
2. My goal was to finish the boards in a week. It took five days! My speed is improving.
3. When there is a Hamilton movie, it shouldn’t look anything like this. Just wanted to stretch my imagination a little. The best presentation for this monologue is one actor under a spotlight in a dark theater. @linmanuel @leslieodomjr hope you don’t mind the creative liberties. Your performances on the soundtrack are outstanding!
1:48. Damn.
Even this guy’s impressed. So proud and happy for you.
Is this how death gets me? On my screen, a couple feet in front of me?
apparently ppl don’t know about waifu2x??? despite its… concerning name it’s literally the most convenient website i’ve ever come across as an artist
it allows you to resize artwork without it becoming pixellated. this is a MASSIVE help if you, for example, make lineart too small or something. it works best with things that 1. have no textures 2. have smooth lines 3. have cel shading, but it still works really damn well for things that don’t fit that profile
“The reason the Grand Line is called the ‘Pirates’ Graveyard’, is because of the Three Great Powers that rule over it. One of them, is the Ōka Shichibukai. They’re seven Pirate Warlords that are officially authorized by the World Government. The Shichibukai inhabit wild regions of the seas and as long as they give a cut of their loot obtained from marauding & pillaging, the World Government sanctions their actions. Other pirates may look down on them and call them ‘Government Dogs’, but they’re among the strongest the Grand Line has to offer!!”
Thus ends my journey with the Shichibukai. It was fun & arduous while it lasted and I had a hell of a great time re-reading some of the most epic and sad moments in One Piece. I’ve compiled all the gifs into a short video in the order of the manga’s storyline, so enjoy this final treat me buckos! A big thank you to all who stuck with me till the end & to all who joined in on the fun!! Oda has given us so many fantastic characters & memories it’s hard to wait a week for each chapter but it is always worth the wait. I can’t wait to see what else the sensei has in store for us!!
