I feel the need to state my personal distinction:

Batman is strict.

Bruce is not.

Think about it.

I see I have to expand on my personal distinction. When I say that Batman is strict, I’m relating him to his work. He canot let anything slip by. He has boundaries and guidelines that he firmly sticks to. This includes his coworkers (aka his children–I’m not discussing the Justice League)

Bruce, however, doesn’t need to be strict and firm every moment. Damian wants a cow? Sure. Kids not exactly behaving like elite members of society? It’s funny, no one is getting hurt, plus it’s been a while since the last good romp.

Of course, they are the same person. The behavior intersects. But I do think that Bruce is a lot more lax when dealing with domestic life, which he does not have the luxury of while in the field.

When people’s lives are on the line, you can’t afford to be chill with everything. You can’t. Everything has to go in the direction of saving them. But family life? Sure, mess around, get dirty, have a good laugh.

That isn’t to say Bruce doesn’t have boundaries in his personal life, but he’s not as rigid about them.

Batman HAS to be strict. Bruce has the luxury of not being so 100% of the time.

important batkids + pokemonGO headcanons:

  • tim teared up when downloading the game
  • bruce threatened to fire everyone at least 5 times in the first 24 hours because everyone is using it on patrol. everyone is still using it on patrol, he’s just too tired to fight them anymore.
  • steph has some truly incredibly screenshots from trying to catch pokemon while in the middle of fights with various villains.
  • the batcave is a pokestop. so is the clocktower. everyone is very confused and worried.
  • babs has tried to figure out what’s wrong with the servers like 20 times and now her go-to answer to all the batkids texting her about it is just:

  • dick keeps trying to remind damian that they’re not real animals and don’t actually need to be saved. damian doesn’t care. all his pokemon are named bat-[name] and it’s terrible.
  • cass mastered throwing pokeballs immediately and it pisses everyone else off because it took them a good 5 or 6 pokemon before they sort of had it figured out. dick is still struggling.
  • tim and duke are competing to level up the quickest and it’s getting very ugly very fast. phones have been broken. lines have been drawn. blood has been shed (literally bc duke stepped on a nail while running to get to a pokestop first).
  • nightwing has saved 5 kids from walking into traffic so far
  • jason has been saved from walking into traffic by 3 kids so far
  • it
    would’ve been 4, but damian didn’t actually save him, he just sort of
    said “todd look out” in a monotone voice and a hugeass truck had to slam
    on its brakes to avoid running jason over. damian was too busy trying
    to catch a rattata. no he doesn’t care that he already has 5, the point
    of the game is to catch them all and he’s not going to leave a poor defenseless pokemon out in the wild alone.
